While Oceania boast one of the safest communities leading the global market place in fire prevention, from time to time fires do occur as the result of negligence from proles or even worse a Goldstein Collaborator. The Ministry of Truth advises that fires may occur as a result of overheated equipment. Fires should be feared as they can spread quickly and decimate property and people caught in their path. Your investments and prized property could disappear in matter of moments ruining your morning bowl of cereal. Fires as a general rule of thumb do not occur randomly unless there’s at least one fireman on duty. Fires that have not be addressed after five minutes will burn out.

#Firefighters are tasked with putting fires out that randomly generate throughout the map. Firefighters can earn bonus income by putting out fires and have access to fire trucks to patrol the streets and respond to fires with. Firefighters may also respond to medical emergencies as all firemen are trained medical first responders.

Fires are often caused by vehicle collisions.

Victory City Fire Department is located near the waterfront on Turnpike Road. The facility has two engine bays located on the first floor. The second floor consist of a cozy living space for the department. Vehicles can be requested by speaking with the firehouse mechanic located in the garage of the station. The Fire Department was trained in conducting CPR and other life saving measures to respond to ailing citizens. Although they are not able to provide advance care such as running drips and curing fractures such as what a Doctor could do, the Fire Department is capable of stabilizing patients and transporting them to the Hospital. The department currently operates Pierce Pumper fire engines.

Civilian Response to Fires

Although firefighters are the best equipped to handle fires, civilians can put out fires themselves by utilizing an extinguisher that can be acquired by using an extinguisher hung on the walls of major housing developments / public buildings OR by purchase at any Victory Vending Location. Unlike firefighters , these extinguishers have a much smaller capacity and may not be able to put out larger fires. Civilians also do not get rewarded as well for putting fires out.
